The Restaurant Buchholz which is situated in the Palatinate capital Mainz is the cities only gourmet restaurant. Frank Buchholz, the well known German TV chef and cook book author, opened his restaurant in 2005. He serves his guests local dishes with a Mediterranean twist. Frank Buchholz is only using the best local products and even grows part of the ingredients in the garden of his family home. The restaurant is connected with Frank Buchholz’s cooking school Kochwerkstatt. The Restaurant Buchholz has been awarded with one Michelin star and 16 points of the Gault Millau.
